Washington Wizards news, notes, and history:
The
Washington Wizards were founded in 1961. They are based in Washington,
D.C.. The Wizards play all of their home games at the MCI Center. They
have won one NBA Championship title, in 1978.
Through the
mid-1990's, the Washington Bullets still played a few games per season
in Baltimore. One interesting part of the Baltimore Arena was that it
had a stage at one end of the court, giving it a really amateur feel.
The MCI Center is also home to the Washington Capitals of the National
Hockey League and the Washington Mystics of the WNBA.
