New York Knicks also known as the New York Knickerbockers were founded
in 1946. They are based in New York, New York. The famed Madison Square
Garden is where the Knicks play all of their home games.
They
are one of only 2 teams of the original National Basketball Association
still located in its original city (the other being the Boston
Celtics). The Basketball Association of America and the National
Basketball League merged in 1949 to form the NBA. The Knicks have won 2
NBA Championships, 1970 and 1973.
